Sarah has extensive experience teaching students from all year levels, and those particularly with challenging and severely violent behaviour. More recently, Sarah has worked to mentor and facilitate teacher professional learning both as an RTLB and Professional Learning Facilitator.
Sarah is currently involved in Doctoral-level research with Massey University examining the role of the teacher in a successful play-based learning environments, and how to support teachers in their professional practice through the implementation of Practice-Based Coaching. Sarah is particularly passionate about building children’s socio-emotional competencies for success in adulthood.
As co-director of Longworth Education, Sarah now delivers workshops on teaching and learning through play with a specific focus on effective teaching practice within play-based learning environments.
