Play based learning in the primary education environment

Play based learning is a developmental approach to a child’s learning founded on and supported by sound research. Longworth Education helps schools wanting to implement play based learning into the primary learning environment.

We do this with workshops, presentations, in-school support programmes and one to one coaching. All our play based learning initiatives are designed to reflect the goals and vision of the New Zealand Curriculum.

Contact us if you need help to implement play based learning at your school.

We regularly hold practical workshops and professional learning opportunities for educators, senior managers and parents for professional development and play based learning. See below for a full list of the workshops we provide.

Longworth Education continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic situation within New Zealand at the present time. Currently, we do not expect there to be a significant impact of this virus on the services and events we provide New Zealand educators. Our workshops, on average, do not exceed 50 attendees, and are therefore not considered a large ‘mass gathering’. However, we will continue to monitor advice from the Ministry of Health regarding the organisation of public events and follow their guidelines as and when they are updated. Should a workshop require postponement, we will attempt to advise all those registered to attend as soon as possible. Where there are postponements, we will be able to offer an online learning option as an alternative.
